A man has been charged following an aggravated burglary in Biddulph.

Police were called at 6.05pm on Saturday (19 June) to reports a man had been into a property in the town with a knife and taken a quantity of cash.

Adrian David Bryan, 41, of St Johns Road, Biddulph was arrested at approximately 7.35pm.

He was charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a controlled drug of Class A (cocaine).

He appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre this morning (Monday 21 June) and was remanded into custody.

Reacting to the charge, Chief Inspector Mark Thorley, of Staffordshire Police's Moorlands Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "I'm aware that some great teamwork took place over the weekend to progress this investigation, including CID, response officers and the neighbourhood team."
