A planning application is seeking permission to build a new detached home in Brown Edge after a previous application on the same site was turned down by the council.

A new application submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council this week aims to get permission to build the home on land adjacent to Fair View, Bank End.

The applicant, a Mr David Miller, is hoping the designs submitted in the latest application will be appropriate after a previous application was refused.

The district council rejected the previous application for several reasons, including the design "being at odds with the street scene", as well as inadequate external amenity space, and "awkward access arrangements" for vehicles.

The revised application aims to address these concerns, with the proposed home being a two storey building with two bedrooms.

A statement by Rob Duncan Planning Consultancy prepared on behalf of the applicant states: "The proposed scale, massing, design and layout of the development is considered to be in keeping with the character and appearance of the surrounding area and will afford an appropriate level of residential amenity for future occupiers of the dwelling.

"The concerns previously raised about awkward vehicle manoeuvres have also been resolved, and consequently this revised proposal is considered to meet the requirements ... of the Staffordshire Moorlands Local Plan and guidance contained within the National Planning Policy Framework."

If you would like to see the application in full, visit the district council's website here.
