A Biddulph man is attempting to run a half marathon around the town to raise money for charity this weekend - but if that wasn't tough enough on its own, he will be doing it dressed as Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc!

Local personal trainer Ritchie Berrie is beginning the unique challenge on Saturday 8th May at 10am, starting at the Gardeners Arms before running through Biddulph to Congleton and then back, for a total distance of over 13 miles.

He will be doing it all dressed in a huge, round Mike Wazowski costume that will no doubt take the challenge to the next level and attract plenty of attention.

Other runners will also be joining him along the way to help raise money for Brace Alzheimer's Research.

The charity funds clinical and laboratory research into dementia to find better treatments for the disease, with the eventual goal of finding a cure.

Children are more than welcome to have pictures taken with Ritchie (or should we say Mike?) on his run, while abiding by social distancing.

Over £400 has already been raised on Ritchie's JustGiving page, and there will hopefully still be much more to come ahead of the big day on Saturday.

If you would like to donate, visit the JustGiving page here.
