Police across the Moorlands have been tackling dangerous parking this week as part of a national campaign organised by the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC).

Officers have been patrolling the roads around local schools and reporting any vehicles they see parked in dangerous positions.

The patrols are being conducted as part of the Parking Star campaign which aims to make sure parents park safely and legally when dropping their children off at school.

Parents have been asked not to park on zig zags and double yellow lines or in a way that blocks access for emergency vehicles.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said today: "Moorlands Officers have been supporting the NPCC campaign this week by patrolling the roads around local Schools.

"A number of vehicles have been reported for parking in dangerous positions. Please park considerately during school times for the safety of the children."
