The Moorlands has enjoyed three consecutive weeks with no new Coronavirus deaths being recorded in the district for the first time since the pandemic began in March.
This is according to the Office for National Statistics, who release localised Coronavirus statistics in updated data each week.
The latest figures were released earlier today (Wednesday), for the week ending Friday, August 14th.
The figures mean that the number of people who have died from Coronavirus in the Moorlands remains at 79.
Of the 79 deaths, 55 have taken place in hospitals, 16 have occurred in care homes, three have occurred at home, with three at other communal establishments, one in a hospice, and one elsewhere.
With no deaths being recorded in the Moorlands for three consecutive weeks, do local people still need to be concerned about Coronavirus?
Figures elsewhere suggest that not all local Covid-19 news is so encouraging, with 4,140 confirmed cases of the virus now being recorded across Staffordshire, (excluding Stoke-on-Trent) as of yesterday.
That is an extra 133 recorded cases in the county compared to last weeks 4,007 recorded cases.
There have now been 405 total recorded cases in the Moorlands, an increase of 13 compared to the 392 cases recorded last week.
