A woman has been ordered not to attend Biddulph's branch of Wetherspoons after police were called to reports of her "refusing to leave" the local pub.

The woman was handcuffed by police and put into a police car just before 5pm this afternoon (Thursday, 9th September) and given a community resolution.

A video taken by a local resident shows the woman being held to the ground and handcuffed by police while screaming outside the Bradley Green Wetherspoons on Biddulph High Street.

She is then taken to a nearby police car while a witness jokingly tells her to "have a good night's sleep" before she swore at him in response. Police then put her in the police car.

Police say the woman has now been "given a community resolution with a condition not to attend Wetherspoons".

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police told Biddulph Nub News: "Police were called to Wetherspoons in High Street, Biddulph, at 4.40pm this afternoon (Thursday 9 September) to reports of a woman refusing to leave the pub.

"Officers attended and the woman had already left.

"She was located a short time later and given a community resolution with a condition not to attend Wetherspoons."

Community Resolutions allow the police to deal with low level offences without needing to pursue formal criminal justice sanctions. These can include a simple apology or an offer of compensation.
