Biddulph residents have praised their local postmen for their kindness and friendly demeanour.

Residents took to social media to share their own praise after a post praising a "lovely" postman attracted hundreds of likes.

A Congleton Road resident thanked their postman, Andrew, for his friendly service during their time at the address.

They said: "We live on Congleton Road, not far from Biddulph Grange, and our lovely postman Andrew has been such a bonus during our two years in this house.

"When we were shielding, and after, he has always, whatever the weather, been so kind and always gone out of his way to pass the time of day.

"He's always busy but never too busy for a quick hello or a cheery wave.

"On Friday he told us he had lost his delivery route - we are so sorry and he will be missed.

"Wherever you go Andrew we are sure you will be appreciated, but you will be missed on your regular route.

"All the very best in the future, but we wish you could still deliver our mail, getting a letter will not be the same without you."

The post led other local residents to praise Andrew as well as the other postmen in the local area.

Here are some of your comments...

"He is lovely - hail, rain or sunshine he has the most lovely smile and positivity."

"We live at the top of Grange Road and Andrew was the nicest postman that we've ever had. He is such a lovely person. I wish him the very best."

"Andrew is amazing, such a lovely friendly guy, he used to be our postie in Knypersley, always had time for a quick chat and a treat for our dog."

"I had Andrew as my postie for a few years then he was moved. I missed him but he was replaced by Eric. Another great fella. Always appreciated them."

"We live in Briarswood and have Paul who is equally great."

"He used to do our route a few years ago. You knew what time your post was coming, and if we were out and he had a parcel, he always tried again at the end of his round. He was brilliant, was gutted when he took on another round."

"Well what a lovely thing to say and it is so true - I think that we are very blessed to have a really lovely bunch of posties in Biddulph you only have to read the comments to see what a positive effect they have on our lives. Andrew will go on to give his own special bit of joy to different people but I am sure that your next post person will also be kind positive and caring and deliver a bit of happiness to your day as well as your post."

"We have Eric as our postie and he is also the nicest kindest man you will ever come across."
