Beauty Salons can finally reopen with close contact services in Biddulph from tomorrow (Saturday).

Initially these salons were meant to be reopening on August 1st, however these measures were pushed back for two weeks due to a rise in Coronavirus cases.

It has been a tough time for the beauty industry, as they are one of the last industries to fully reopen with shops, hospitality and other services all now back in action.

Dawn's Beauty Salon, based on Biddulph High Street, welcomed the announcement on their Facebook page.

A spokesperson said: "Hooray! Restrictions are being lifted! We can now do facials, and all face treatments from Saturday 15th August! I will be in touch as soon as possible with you or please ring the salon for an appointment! Cannot wait to see you all!"

Bowling alleys, casinos and soft play areas can also reopen, and wedding receptions in the form of a sit-down meal for up to 30 guests will be permitted.

Theatres and indoor performance venues have also been given the green light to reopen, but only with social distancing measures in place.

The piloting of a small number of live sports events will also take place commencing with the final of the World Snooker Championship at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre over the weekend.

It's still bad news for those keen to get back to the nightlife though, as nightclubs remain closed, and have not yet been given a reopening date.
