A message of thanks has been sent to an unknown group of "wonderful people" who looked after an elderly woman who fell over in Biddulph town centre.
The woman's daughter has asked anyone who may know the group of good samaritans to say a big thank you for offering their help to her mother.
Those who volunteered to help included two people who took off their coats to keep the woman warm after her fall, as well as an off-duty paramedic.
The woman's daughter said on social media: "In Biddulph town centre my mum had an awful fall.
"A massive thank you to all the lovely people who took over and came to help - a lady from Brammers shoe shop, two ladies who took their coats off to cover mum up, a lady from Hanley economic building society and an off duty paramedic. Thank you so much, you're all so fabulous.
"Unfortunately mum is quite poorly and has been in hospital since the fall but hopefully we will have her home soon.
"If you know any of these wonderful people please say thank you from mum, dad and myself."
The message of thanks has since received a large positive reaction on social media, attracting hundreds of 'likes' and comments.
One commenter said: "Wishing your mum a speedy recovery. Lovely to hear people were on hand to help."
Another commented: "So sorry to hear about your mum, poor lady. It's awful to fall but thank goodness lots of wonderful people came to her aid!
"We have such kind and caring people here in our town! My thoughts and good wishes to your lovely mum. Hope she recovers."
While a third added: "Very nice to hear this instead of negative thoughts by folk. There are a lot of good people in Biddulph and well done to the people who helped out.
"We all get old and need help on occasions. I was Biddulph born and bred myself. I hope your your mum gets better very soon and makes a full recovery."
One of those who helped the elderly woman has also now come forward to wish her a speedy recovery, saying: "You are very welcome, I couldn't see her lying there getting so wet and cold having hurt herself. I really hope your mum has a fast recovery, sending lots of love."
