Disgusting racist graffiti sprayed onto an area of playing fields in Biddulph was covered and replaced with an anti-racism message.
Biddulph Nub News reported yesterday how a local resident found the n-word and "KKK" sprayed on a concrete area at playing fields near near Our Lady of Grace Academy in Biddulph.
Residents described the graffiti as "awful" and "shocking" - however, it did not take long before the offensive vandalism was replaced with a more positive message.
Another resident has since sprayed over the graffiti and written "Say No To Racism" above it.
Local resident Michelle Jay spotted the graffiti being covered by the anti-racist message.
She said: "Yes it still is graffiti, but it is a place where a number of young members of your community have painted and they have been outstanding in expressing themselves.
"Small minded people go and vandalise it with a racist expression that they most probably don't have a clue about.
"I watched a young lad come over and start to paint, so I walked over to him and asked what he was doing he had no shame in telling me that he was trying to paint over the comments and painted 'Say No To Racism' on it.
"We stood and had a conversation for a few minutes. I know this young man and he is a good lad."
However, Biddulph town and district councillor Kevin Jackson has now confirmed that Staffordshire Moorlands District Council are currently cleaning the site, meaning the original racist message and its anti-racist response will both soon be invisible.
