"Stop getting stuck in toddler swings" - Fire Service plea to local teens

By Jack Lenton 27th Jul 2020

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has urged local teenagers not to climb into toddler swings, with too many people getting trapped in the play equipment.

The plea comes after the fire service said that getting teens unstuck from the swings was taking time away from them being able to attend serious emergencies.

The process of removing people from the swings also leaves the equipment damaged and in need of repairs.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Young teenagers are climbing into toddler swings on local parks & becoming trapped.

"Crews are busy dealing with real emergencies, play equipment is left out of use for repairs.

"We are asking young people to stop misusing play equipment when out with friends."
