Aldi applies for planning permission to install signs outside new Biddulph supermarket - and opening times revealed
A new Aldi planning application has been submitted - and this time the supermarket is seeking permission to install a range of signs outside its upcoming Biddulph store.
The supermarket, on the site of the former Meadows Special School, is currently under construction and is expected to open before Christmas.
Biddulph Nub News reported earlier this year how Aldi was granted planning permission to construct the supermarket, but now a new application has been submitted for the store's proposed signage.
A total of eight signs are proposed around the store, including an illuminated four metre tall "totem tower" which will display the Aldi logo and the store opening times - 8am to 10pm on Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
There are also proposed brickwork signs which would stand at around 2.5 metres tall.
The district council will make the final decision on the application at a later date.
