A planning application made by Aldi to build a new supermarket in Biddulph will be discussed by town councillors tomorrow (Tuesday).

The German supermarket giant submitted an application to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council last month to build a new store on the site of the former Meadows Special School off Tunstall Road.

At a Planning Committee meeting on Zoom tomorrow evening, Biddulph Town Councillors will have the chance to give their thoughts on the application, and will be able to vote on whether to recommend the application for approval or refusal at district council level.

The meeting is due to begin at 6pm, and will be broadcast live for public viewing on the Biddulph Town Council Facebook page.

The final decision on the application will be made by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's planning officers, although an expected date for this decision has not yet been given.

For more information about the application, visit the district council's planning portal here.
