Another chance to have your say on constituency border changes to Biddulph

Residents have got another chance to have their say on proposed changes to Biddulph's constituency boundaries after a new consultation period began.
Nub News reported previously how the election boundary around Biddulph could change under proposals for a shake-up of England's electoral map in 2023.
The new boundaries have been drawn up by the Boundary Commission for England, which says the aim is to make Parliament fairer by giving each MP a roughly similar number of voters.
In the image above, the red lines represent the proposed new boundaries, whereas the blue lines represent the existing boundaries.
Purple lines represent areas where the new boundaries would remain the same as the existing boundaries.
As can be seen in the image, the boundary on the West of Biddulph is due for a change, and would be cut off right on the outskirts of the town, no longer incorporating Harriseahead as part of the constituency.
The cut-off area would no longer be considered a part of the Staffordshire Moorlands, and would instead join Stoke-on-Trent North.
The most major change in the local area would be Cheadle joining the Staffordshire Moorlands constituency, after previously being part of the Stone constituency.
Overall, the number of constituencies in the West Midlands will decrease from 59 to 57.
By law, every constituency proposed must contain between 69,724 and 77,062 Parliamentary electors.
Less than 10% of constituencies around the country would remain unchanged under the proposals.
The total number of seats in the House of Commons will stay at 650 but population changes mean England is set to have 543 MPs, Wales 32 and Scotland 57 - that is an extra 10 for England, with Wales losing eight and Scotland's count cut by two.
The secondary consultation is running until 4th April. If you would like to share your views, visit the Boundary Commission's website here.
