The opening date for Biddulph's upcoming Aldi supermarket has been confirmed, with a spokesperson for the supermarket giant revealing the opening date to Nub News today (Monday).

That opening date has been confirmed as Thursday, 21st October, meaning shoppers will hopefully be able to start visiting the town's new Aldi within the next five months.

A spokesperson for Aldi told Nub News: "Construction for our new Biddulph store is progressing well as we move towards opening on 21st October. This will create up to 40 new jobs for the community."

Biddulph Nub News reported in February how Aldi chief executives expressed their excitement for the town's new store to open after being granted planning permission to build the supermarket.

Aldi were previously aiming to get the supermarket open to the public before the end of the year, in the hopes of having customers through the doors in time for the busy Christmas period, but it has now been confirmed that the store will open even earlier than that.
