For a second time this year, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged us all to 'stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives'.

A further national lockdown comes as new coronavirus cases recorded across England have seen a sharp rise.

This is hard news to hear for many Biddulph businesses, who find themselves yet again having to adapt in uncertain circumstances.

Biddulph Nub News wants to support local businesses, and we aim to help by compiling a list of services available in the town; with information easily accessible in one place. The list will be updated and re-shared regularly.

Biddulph Youth and Community Zone

"Following Saturday evening's Government announcement, we will be entering lockdown again from Thursday 5th November, which means that ALL of the community groups and projects will be put on hold.

"However Adult fitness will move onto Zoom – starting 11th November. And the Youth Club will be moved online also. (More information about youth club will be announced soon.)

"The Zone will be open on Thursdays and Fridays to continue to provide the community with Fruit and Veg and FREE Food Fridays if you need to order a veg box please just call the Zone, to get a Free food back just pop up on Fridays from 11.30 not referral is needed. we supply over 50 bags on Fridays to the local community.

"Some groups will still run this week: Tonight's Youth Club and Adult Fitness however as of Thursday the Zone will be closed except for Food Projects.

"We understand that this is difficult time for the community, please try not to panic, whatever happens essential shops will remain open, you will be able to get food and supplies, if you are struggling financially we can offer advice and point you in the right direction for support, if you are lonely and feeling isolated there will be someone on the end of a phone for you or if you need anything then please call us.

"Unfortunately we have no choice but to completely close as of Thursday. It's not viable for us to operate a take-away service. We'll be back as soon as the government give hospitality the go ahead.

"We are lucky in respect of the lockdown as we can continue to work, although we have added another service to what we provide. That being the collection and delivery of anything needed to anyone that may need it. We did this during the last lockdown and will of course continue this, this does not just apply to clients either it is for anyone that may need it in the areas which we cover. Free of charge too!"

Biddulph Grange Garden

"Following the government announcement of a four-week lockdown in England, we're pleased we can keep Biddulph Grange Garden open. We are open Saturday-Wednesday (10am-3.30pm) for pre-booked tickets only. Our Tearoom is open for take away drinks and snacks."
