Moorlands MP Karen Bradley was one of a sizeable group of 99 Tory MPs to vote against a proposal making it compulsory for adults in England to show Covid passes in order to enter nightclubs.

Despite almost 100 Conservative MPs voting against their own Government's plans, the proposals passed with Labour support, and Covid passes will now be required for entry into nightclubs, top level sports matches and other large events.

In total, 369 MPs voted in favour of the proposals, with 126 voting against.

Now that the vote has been passed the new rules have already come into effect, with proof of double vaccination or a recent negative test being accepted as a Covid pass.

Votes on compulsory mask wearing in indoor settings and mandatory vaccination for NHS workers were also passed, albeit with smaller Tory rebellions.

The rebellion marks the largest that Boris Johnson has experienced during his time as Prime Minister.

People can can get a Covid pass digitally on the NHS app or the NHS website. You can also request a letter from the NHS to confirm your vaccine status, or show test results with a text message or email from NHS Test and Trace.

Passes are now required to enter nightclubs, indoor unseated venues with more than 500 people, unseated outdoor venues with more than 4,000 people, and any venue with more than 10,000 people.
