Police have successfully recovered a total of five stolen vehicles after two warrants were executed at two locations in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers entered premises on Milburn Road, Cobridge and Parsonage Street, Tunstall, on Wednesday (21 April).

In Cobridge, police discovered a white Ford transit stolen from Wilmslow Cheshire in 2019, a silver Mitsubishi stolen from Congleton in 2019 and a black Land Rover stolen from Manchester in December 2020.

A white Ford Fiesta and a purple Fiat 500, stolen from a garage forecourt in Stoke-on-Trent on 15 April, were also recovered at the premises.

In Tunstall, officers found a Ford MAN lorry, a Brian James trailer, engines to a Ford Mondeo, a VW UP, and vehicle parts of a Ford Transit van.

Inquiries are ongoing in order to establish when and where these vehicles and parts were stolen from.

During the raids, a 30-year-old man from Biddulph was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle.

He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Peter Cooke of Staffordshire Police's CID North, said: "This was a proactive operation which I'm pleased to say resulted in officers being able to identify a number of stolen vehicles.

"We are in the process of investigating how they have come to be where they were discovered.

"I would encourage the community to continue to pass information to us, as this operation demonstrates; we do act on the intelligence we receive."
