A Biddulph craft beer supplier is showing that they have the authority by stocking a beer inspired by Jackie Weaver and Handforth Parish Council.

Biddulph On Tap, which is based on the town's high street, is selling the new "You Have No Authority Here" beer by the Neon Raptor Brewing Company.

The 5.8% pale ale is available for £5 from the On Tap website.

Its description reads: "Lay your hand(forth)s on our latest tropical and topical New England IPA, You Have No Authority Here.

"Amarillo, Citra, Enigma and El Dorado hops zoom together with loads of authority. Perfect for angry parishioners everywhere."

The beer is inspired by a meeting of Handforth Parish Council that went viral last month thanks to its farcical nature.

Viewers were entertained by quotes including "Read the standing orders, read them and understand them", as well as "You may refer to me as Britney Spears from now on", and of course "You have no authority here Jackie Weaver, no authority whatsoever".

A recording of the meeting has since been viewed over 3 million times on YouTube.
