A Biddulph school has had to issue a ban on Pokémon cards after the game caused too many arguments among students.

The game was becoming popular among students at Woodhouse Academy, but has been banned as of this week due to upset caused by cards being lost or disagreements over students trading.

Parents and students have now been warned that it is their responsibility if they bring the cards into school and they are lost or get into an argument.

Woodhouse Academy head teacher Deborah Farr said in a letter on Friday: "We are seeing an increasing problem in school with Pokemon cards, which is causing a number of disagreements amongst students.

"Therefore, from Monday, should a student bring in any cards, whether to play with or trade, it will be their responsibility if anything happens or fall outs ensue.

"They are causing too much upset in school with ones missing, lost, misplaced, students trading and then changing their minds and causing arguments.

"Invariably, even when teachers spend time on this, they cannot get to the root of it, nor solve the problem. Please talk to your child regarding this to support the school."
