The owner of a Biddulph takeaway has thanked his customers for their support after achieving a huge improvement in its food hygiene rating.
Rupeyal on Congleton Road, which offers a variety of Indian food as well as pizzas, burgers and fried chicken, was previously given a food hygiene rating of 1, indicating "major improvement necessary".
However, following the takeaway's most recent inspection, that rating has now jumped all the way up to 5 - the highest rating possible!
A rating of 5 indicates "very good" food hygiene.
Rupeyal's owner, Mohammed Akhtar spoke to Nub News about recent improvements at the takeaway and thanked customers for their loyalty and support.
He said: "Five is a great rating and I really appreciate our local customers.
"I'm happy that my customers keep coming to Rupeyal and I'm grateful for their support.
"We have been in business in Biddulph for the last 20 years so I am really happy with this rating.
"We have put all brand new equipment inside the kitchen so I am proud that we have now been rated a five."
