Biddulph's Artisan Market got back up and running in the town today in what was called a "positive first step out of lockdown".
A range of stalls and traders returned to the market for the first time in months as shoppers begin to return to Biddulph High Street and lockdown restrictions continue to relax.
The market usually takes place on the first Friday of every month from 9am - 3pm, but like many things, this was put to a stop at the beginning of 2020 due to Coronavirus restrictions.
The market made a brief return in September 2020 as restrictions began to relax, but soon the country was put back into lockdown, meaning the market had to be postponed again.
Biddulph town councillor Jim Garvey praised the return of the market, saying: "Great to see the Artisan Market open and busy again this morning.
"Great work by Jodie, Sarah and the town hall team to get this up and running. Positive first steps out of lockdown for Biddulph."
On market days the stalls can be found outside Biddulph Town Hall and Sainsbury's on the High Street, which is packed with specialist traders and local produce.
Some of the traders at this month's market included:
- Scrumbles Cake Shop
- Select Fish
- Bernards Farm
- Staffordshire Savoury Eggs
- Aphrodite Designs
- Biddulph Local People's Project
- Flash Brewery
- LJB Plants
A town council spokesperson said: "We are delighted to have the Artisan Market return. Stalls will be socially distanced and we will be joined by traders both old and new."
If you are interested in becoming a stall holder at the market visit the town council's website here for more details.
