Biddulph's very own Port Vale striker James Wilson will unfortunately be out injured for the next several weeks because of a broken bone in his foot.

The 25-year-old former Manchester United striker, who is from Biddulph, has been in form for Port Vale, scoring a hat trick less than two weeks ago in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley, meaning his injury will come as a big blow for the club.

He was substituted off in the 64th minute of Saturday's League Two draw against Bradford after suffering the injury.

Vale manager Darrell Clarke said Wilson was "devastated" following the injury and that he will sadly be out of action "for a substantial period".

Vale are currently second in League Two, two points behind leaders Forest Green, although Forest Green have played one game less than Vale.

Vale's next match is away at Oldham Athletic in the league tomorrow at 3pm.
