Book of condolence offered for Biddulph residents to pay tribute to the Queen

A book of condolence will be opened at Biddulph Town Hall to allow local residents to share their thoughts and tributes to the Queen following her passing this evening.
Biddulph Town Council have announced that the flag at the Town Hall will be flying at half mast as a mark of respect.
Floral tributes can also be laid in the gardens of the Town Hall.
A spokesperson for Biddulph Town Council said: "Biddulph Town Council joins the nation in mourning the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II. She was a constant and reassuring figure for us all, dedicating her life to public service. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
"As a mark of respect, during the period of Royal mourning, the Union Flag at the Town Hall will fly at half-mast.
"Floral tributes may be laid at the Town Hall Gardens and a book of condolence will be available to sign in the reception area at the Town Hall. Further information will be published as soon as this is available."
St Lawrence's Church will also be open this evening for residents to reflect in private prayer.
A spokesperson for the church said: "We are sad to hear the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We pray for the Royal Family and all who mourn. St. Lawrence's will be open tonight between 8 and 9pm if you wish to spend time in private quiet prayer."
Queen Elizabeth II has passed away, aged 96, at the Balmoral estate in Scotland where she has been staying over the summer.
This evening Buckingham Palace announced: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."
