A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was "rapidly increasing out of control".

They said: "The fire is affecting buildings and rapidly increasing out of control. Firefighters are currently working hard to prevent it from spreading. The fire also involves a shed."

In an update later today, they added: "A water shuttle has been set up to get water to the area and firefighters are using hose reels, beaters and water from a main jet to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading further."

And in another update just after 6pm this evening, they added: "Firefighters are still working to extinguish this fire. Two main water jets are being used to protect property, which is the main priority currently.

"The Agrocat is in attendance and water shuttles are getting water to the area. A rotation of staff is in place to ensure the safety of our firefighters.

"Crews are using beaters to help extinguish the fire and they are making good progress."
