Council aims to begin webcasting in-person Biddulph meetings again soon
Biddulph Town Council is hoping to webcast its meetings again soon after returning to in-person meetings after the relaxing of Covid restrictions.
As with all local authorities around the country, the council was unable to meet in person during the pandemic due to the Covid restrictions in place, and instead held their meetings on Zoom.
These meetings were also broadcast live for residents to watch on the council's Facebook page.
Currently the only way to watch meetings is to attend them in person at Biddulph Town Hall on the High Street, which was also the case before the pandemic.
Biddulph Nub News reported previously how the council said it was hoping to "keep some form of virtual meetings" once members were able to meet in person again.
When councillors began meeting in person once again after Covid restrictions were relaxed, the meetings were initially still webcast live on Facebook, despite no longer being held over Zoom - but this stopped after a few meetings.
However, the council now says it is hoping to resume webcasting meetings soon after trialling different camera and sound setups.
Sarah Haydon, Chief Officer of Biddulph Town Council, told Nub News: "We have been trialling different room layouts and possible sound recording options, and hope to join you again soon on Zoom/Facebook Live."
