Residents at Park Lane Care Home in Biddulph celebrated Mother's Day this weekend by tucking into a delivery of free pizzas.

The delivery came courtesy of Family Pizza, who are based on Biddulph High Street.

The pizza parlour said they wanted to donate the pizzas to give the residents "a nice treat" for Mothering Sunday.

Mosko Somunev from Family Pizza told Biddulph Nub News: "We decided to give the residents at Park Lane Care Home a nice treat to look forward to for Mother's Day.

"We delivered to them free of charge, donation of pizzas, chips and bottles of drink for them to enjoy."

The care home has since shared its gratitude with the pizza place for their donations.

A spokesperson for Park Lane Care Home said: "Thank you so much to all at Family Pizza for your very kind donations.

"Our residents have really enjoyed their Mother's Day treat."
