Gallery: Amazing aerial shots show latest progress on Biddulph Aldi development

By Jack Lenton 26th Apr 2021

Biddulph's eagerly anticipated new Aldi supermarket is beginning to take shape, as can be seen in these amazing aerial shots.

Flick through the pictures above, provided to Nub News with permission by local resident Pete Stonier, to see how the latest work on the site is going.

As can be seen in the pictures, the site has been cleared and is looking busy, with several items of heavy machinery working on the supermarket.

The building itself is now also beginning to come together, with the steel outer frame of the supermarket now being installed.

Biddulph Nub News reported in February how Aldi chief executives expressed their excitement for the town's new store to open after being granted planning permission to build the supermarket.

Aldi are reportedly aiming to get the supermarket open to the public before the end of the year, in the hopes of having customers through the doors in time for the busy Christmas period.

Biddulph Nub News also reported last week how Aldi submitted another planning application to install several signs around the supermarket's site, including a four metre tall illuminated "totem tower".

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council will have the final say on that application at a later date.
