How has Biddulph changed over the last 140 years, and how has the town been mapped differently over those years?

Thanks to a feature on the National Library of Scotland website we are able to see for ourselves.

The site allows you to compare how the UK is mapped today compared to dozens of other maps from the past, with the oldest maps available for comparison dating back to the 1880s.

We have put together a gallery of some of the most interesting maps from the past compared to how the town looks today.

Flick through the images at the top of this article to see the many different ways that Biddulph has been mapped over the years.

And if you would like to create your own map comparisons of Biddulph or anywhere else in the country, visit the National Library of Scotland website here.
