Gallery: Take a look round Biddulph's Artisan Market as it finally returns today

By Jack Lenton 4th Sep 2020

Biddulph's Artisan Market is finally back in Biddulph today, after going months without markets due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Biddulph Nub News reported recently how the market was due to return, with traders excited to welcome visitors back for a browse of the stalls.

The market usually takes place on the first Friday of every month from 9am - 3pm, but like many things, this was put to a stop as the virus forced the country to go into lockdown.

Now though, the market has returned at its usual time today with visitors and traders being welcomed to browse and sell outside Sainsbury's in the town centre.

An array of local traders and stalls were in place at the market, and as can be seen in the gallery, they had a range of bespoke crafts, goods and food on display for visitors to enjoy.

There were still reminders of the presence of Coronavirus though, with hand sanitiser stands being available for visitors to stay safe from the virus.

Some of the stalls in place at the market included LJB Plants, the Biddulph Local People's Project, JW's Holysmoke, and Funky Masks.

A spokesperson for Biddulph Town Council said: "It has been eight months since the last Artisan Market and we are so pleased that we can finally return.

"The market will be outside Sainsburys with no road closure on Wharf Road meaning that the buses can run as normal and not hold up the traffic on the High Street.

"We hope you can join us and our lovely traders for a great day."

If you would like to find out more or sign up to trade at the market, fill in the booking form on the town council's website here.
