It's less than a week until Christmas and as people get ready to do their big Christmas shop it's worth knowing when our two major supermarkets in Biddulph will be open over the next few days.

Both Sainsbury's on the High Street and Aldi on Tunstall Road will have slightly different opening times over the Christmas period - here is everything you need to know.

Aldi Between Monday December 20th (today) and Thursday December 23rd Aldi plans to keep its stores open from 7am until 10pm. On Christmas Eve however, Aldi supermarkets will still open at 7am but close at the earlier time of 6pm. The supermarket will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and then between 27th December and 30th December the opening times will be 8am - 8pm. On New Year's Eve, stores are set to be open between 8am and 6pm, and stores will again be closed on New Year's Day. The full list of opening times can be found here.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's says its supermarkets will open between 6am and 11pm until Christmas Eve, when the opening hours will be 6am - 7pm.

Like Aldi, Sainsbury's will close on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and will then open from 8am - 8pm on the 27th and 28th of December.

On New Year's Eve the store will be open from 7am - 7pm, and the supermarket will also be open on New Year's Day, from 8am - 8pm.

There will also be reduced hours of 8am - 8pm on the 3rd of January bank holiday.
