Here's why the Red Arrows flew over Biddulph this morning - and how you could see them again today

Local News by Jack Lenton 25th Mar 2021

Update: The Red Arrows are now being held at RAF Valley in Anglesey for the night due to an incident involving a Royal Navy Hawk crash in Cornwall earlier today. They may now be returning to RAF Scampton tomorrow.

The Red Arrows flew just past Biddulph today on their way to take part in a practice session in Wales.

They arrived at RAF Valley in Anglesey from their base at RAF Scampton at around 10am this morning to take part in pre-season training on their Hawk T1 simulator.

They are due to leave Anglesey just before 4pm and arrive back at RAF Scampton at 4.22pm, meaning those in the right place at the right time might be able to catch another glimpse of them on their way back.

The Red Arrows have only been able to take limited training flights over the past year as they have mostly been grounded due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

They are based at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, but regularly fly to Anglesey to carry out training and make use of their facilities including the simulator.
