How many Coronavirus deaths have there been in each part of Biddulph? - Latest updated figures

By Jack Lenton 25th Feb 2021

Following the unveiling of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown, people in Biddulph and the rest of the country are getting ready for restrictions to ease.

And the upcoming easing of restrictions also comes with the added boost that Coronavirus cases have been falling both nationally and locally.

The latest national figures for today (25th February) show 9,985 new daily cases and 323 deaths - a far cry from earlier in the winter when the country was experiencing over 1,000 deaths every day.

But as we look back on the pandemic so far, how many deaths have there been in Biddulph to date?

An interactive map by the Office for National Statistics has just been updated to show a localised version of every death from the period March to January 2020, where Covid-19 was the underlying (main) cause on the death certificate.

The data breaks down the number of deaths in each area of Biddulph, also shows the month that each death occurred in this time.

Here are the deaths that have occurred in each of the town's areas:

Biddulph Central - 17 deaths

- May: 1 death

- June: 1 death

- November: 2 deaths

- December: 7 deaths

- January: 6 deaths

Biddulph North and Brown Lees - 23 deaths

- April: 2 deaths

- May: 5 deaths

- June: 1 death

- December: 8 deaths

- January: 7 deaths

Biddulph Moor and Rudyard - 13 deaths

- April: 1 death

- May: 2 deaths

- July: 1 death

- December: 1 death

- January: 8 deaths

Brown Edge and Endon - 15 deaths

- April: 1 death

- May: 1 death

- November: 7 deaths

- December: 2 deaths

- January: 4 deaths

That means in the Biddulph area in total, there have been 68 deaths from March to January.

The most deaths of any month occurred in January, with 25.

However, in the months of March, August, September and October, there were no Coronavirus deaths recorded in the Biddulph area at all.
