A Biddulph pub's new look has been met with a mixed reaction from residents.

Photo's of the Royal Oak's new paint job, which saw it change from its original colour of cream to black, have proved popular on social media, attracting hundreds of likes and comments.

Many residents have praised the new style, saying it gives a new smart appearance to the pub, which has recently undergone major refurbishments.

Although there have also been some who haven't reacted as positively, saying they preferred the pub's original cream paint.

Biddulph Nub News reported recently how the pub looking for a new landlord as it got ready to reopen its doors to customers once again after a long period of closure.

The building has been revamped as it reopens as a pub with bed and breakfast accommodation, and of course a new paint job.
