The incident took place yesterday evening (Saturday, 31st October).

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team informed the public of the incident.

They said: "Earlier this evening a 25 year old male was arrested by local officers for spitting at a staff member at Sainsburys in Biddulph.
