Moorlands cake shop loved by Stacey Solomon announces opening of new Brown Edge store
A Leek cake shop which Stacey Solomon named as one of her favourite businesses has announced that it is opening a second branch in the Moorlands.
Nub News reported previously how Scrumbles Cake Shop in Leek had a "surreal and incredible experience" earlier this month after they were named as one of Stacey Solomon's favourite businesses in her new book.
After receiving the celebrity recognition, the business has now announced that it will be opening a second, larger premises at High Lane in Brown Edge.
After securing the premises a pop-up was held which saw Brown Edge residents queueing down the street to try some of the delicious cakes.
Work is currently underway to get the new Brown Edge premises up and running, with an opening date expected to be announced in the future.
Scrumbles Cake Shop was given a shoutout by the TV personality and former X Factor contestant Stacey Solomon in her book 'Tap to Tidy', which aims to share organisation, crafting and tidying ideas.
Stacey added a "Small Business Shoutout" section into the book to share her favourite businesses with readers.
She said: "I just love you, small business owners. Keep doing what you're doing. There are so many I want to talk about but I can't get you all in the book!
"So here are my favourite top twenties at the time of writing these - please check them out and enjoy!"
Reacting to the shoutout, the cake shop said they were "on cloud nine" at the news.
They said: "Absolutely the most surreal and incredible experience ever opening Stacey Solomon's new book and seeing our name in her small business shoutouts.
"We're absolutely convinced we'll wake up at some point and this won't be real but for now we're on cloud nine.
"What an incredible 2021 we've had, we feel so lucky."
