Police have asked residents in the Staffordshire Moorlands to park their vehicles as securely as possible after receiving multiple recent reports of catalytic converter thefts in the area.

Officers say the converters have been stolen from parked vehicles over the last few days.

People have now been asked to park their cars in garages or well-lit parking areas to make them more difficult for thieves to access.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Staffordshire Police have received several reports of catalytic converters being stolen from parked vehicles over the last few days within the Staffordshire Moorlands.

"Where possible park your vehicle in a garage overnight, if this is not possible then park in an area that is well-lit and overlooked and try to park so that the converter can't easily reached by potential thieves.

"Please report any suspicious behaviour via 101, Facebook or Twitter, dial 999 if a crime is ongoing."
