An investigation launched after a dog attacked a pug and injured two people on Biddulph Valley Way has seen little progress so far, police have said.
The incident took place just after 2pm on Sunday, 2nd August, with officers being called to the popular local walking and cycling route following reports of a dog attack.
A border terrier being walked by two women reportedly attacked the pug - named Barry - before injuring a man and a woman who tried to separate them.
A Facebook post appealing for information on the reported attack has since been shared hundreds of times.
Police have also appealed for information, but have now said today (Thursday) that there is still "no update" to share.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "There is no update at this time. No suspects have been identified."
Barry's owners have since said that he has received treatment from a vet, and is recovering well. The man and the woman who were injured have also reportedly received treatment.
A police spokesperson initially said following the incident: "Officers were called at 2.25pm (2 August) on Sunday to a report of a dog attack on Biddulph Valley Way.
"It was reported that a border terrier - being walked by two women - attacked a pug and caused injury to a man and a woman who separated the dogs."
Witnesses or anyone with any information should call 101, or report online, quoting incident number 408 of August 2.
