Biddulph Town Council has compiled a very helpful list of dozens of groups that can help people who may be struggling financially in Biddulph.

The list includes over 50 community and support groups, advice sessions, and groups offering free food and activities.

The list has been compiled as part of the Biddulph Works Together project, which is aiming to help people in the town cope with rising bills.

Also as part of the project, the council-funded local bus service, the 93 bus, has had its fares reduced.

An adult day ticket for the 93 bus is now only £2.

A spokesperson for Biddulph Town Council said: "Biddulph Town Council and partners are working to offer warm friendly spaces and free food opportunities, creating a network of places where Biddulph people can come together to try new things and seek support or advice.

"The timetable shows what's available in the town. A paper copy of this will be available in the next edition of Biddulph Times as well as many community buildings across our town. All groups offer a friendly welcome, with safeguarding policies and food hygiene rules in place.

"There are also many volunteering opportunities available, and all groups would welcome your support. Volunteering can help you learn new skills, meet new people, gain confidence, build relationships and make a difference. Skills and knowledge you acquire could also help you move towards paid employment."

They added: "Biddulph Town Hall is a warm space; you are very welcome to join us.

"How to Donate Food: The Stoke on Trent Foodbank welcomes food donations. They can be dropped at Sainsburys on Wharf Road in Biddulph or at your local church.

"Items the Foodbank needs: Biscuits, Cereal, Coffee, Jar Pasta Sauce, Rice Pudding, Savoury and Sweet Treats/Chocolate etc., Squash, Tea Bags, Tinned Fish, Fruit, Meat, Soup, Sponge Puddings, Tomato, Veg, UHT Fruit Juice and Milk.

"How to Get Food Vouchers: You can obtain food vouchers by contacting Stoke Foodbank directly on 01782 317942. If you are unsure about anything please just contact us."
