Biddulph residents who are aged 70 or over have been urged to contact their local doctors if they have not yet received a Coronavirus vaccine.

Anyone in this age group who has not yet received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination has been encouraged to get in touch with Biddulph Valley Surgery.

A spokesperson for the surgery said: "If you are, or know of anyone, 70 years and over who have not yet received their first Covid-19 vaccination, please contact your GP Practice.

"We have been trying to contact patients to book appointments so please ensure we have your up-to-date contact details.

"Please note that appointments may be offered at short notice."

Nationally, the vaccine has now been given to over 15 million people across the UK, around 10 weeks after the first jab was given on 8th December,

The government is expected to announce on Monday that it has met its target of offering a jab to everyone in the top four priority groups in the UK.

The rollout is now being expanded to over-65s and the clinically vulnerable.
