Plans approved to convert 19th century farmhouse on outskirts of Biddulph into two homes
Plans to convert a six-bedroom farmhouse on the outskirts of Biddulph into two separate dwellings have been approved by the district council.
A planning application, submitted by a Mr T Senn, asked Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for permission for: "Conversion of single two storey dwelling to two two storey dwellings and associated garden and parking amenity."
The plans relate to a building at Cloud Park Farm, Dial Lane.
A planning statement prepared as part of the application explained that the existing six-bedroom detached dwelling, outbuildings and gardens would be split to create two, three-bedroom semi-detached properties.
A report by the district council's planning officers said: "Both dwellings would be equally sized – three large bedrooms, living rooms and large open plan kitchen diners."
The report concluded that the plans would be acceptable in their Green Belt location, and that they would be in keeping with the existing character and appearance of the surrounding area.
The report said: "The development would not be harmful to the Green Belt or the character and appearance of the area. It would provide an additional dwelling with appropriate parking and amenity allocation."
