Police appeal after Biddulph car fire deemed deliberate

Police are appealing for information following a car fire in Biddulph.
Staffordshire Police officers and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Lyneside Road, Biddulph, at around 12.10am this morning (Tuesday 8 March) following reports of a car fire.
On arrival, officers found a silver Audi A3 alight, and the fire was then extinguished by the fire crew.
According to witnesses, three males, described as being of a slim build, around 5ft'6in in height, in their 20s, and seen wearing dark clothing and hoodies, left the scene following the incident on foot.
The fire was deemed as a deliberate ignition, and inquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "If anyone has any information or CCTV footage that could help the police with their inquiries, is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on Facebook, Twitter, or call 101, quoting incident number 004 of 8 March.
"Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "Firefighters were called to Lyneside Road, Biddulph, at around 12.10am this morning (Tuesday 8 March) following reports of a car fire.
"A crew from Biddulph attended as did Staffordshire Police. On arrival, the crew found a silver Audi A3 alight.
"The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets. The fire was deemed as a deliberate ignition.
"The crew left the scene at around 1.15am. The incident has now been left with Staffordshire Police."
