Police appeal after suspicious man reported "asking if people want their chimney swept" in Biddulph Moor

Police have appealed for information after a suspicious man was reported in the Biddulph Moor area.

Officers say the man has been knocking on people's doors, asking them if they want their chimney sweeping, if they need any work done on their properties, or if they want to sell their cars.

The man was reported to police yesterday (Wednesday, 11th November).

Police are now asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at this time to contact them.

PCSO Stephen Sherratt, of Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team, said: "We have had reports of a suspicious male in the Biddulph Moor area.

"He has been knocking on doors asking if people want their Chimney swept, any work need doing at peoples property and also enquiry about their vehicles, if they want to sell them.

"He was seen in a white Ford C-Max. He was described as a white male 5ft 8" Tall. He had a beard. Swept back hair. He was wearing a Black Jacket.

"If you saw anything suspicious in the area please call Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident 385 11/11/2020."
