Police were called to "reports of a disturbance" at a children's care home in Biddulph last week.

Officers attended the Helping Angels care home on Park Lane at around 7.30am on Friday morning (January 28th) but took no further action.

It is understood that residents on Park Lane have recently been involved in a dispute with the care home over parking, although it is not clear whether this was related to the police attendance.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Police were called to an address on Park Lane, Knypersley, at around 7.30am on Friday following reports of a disturbance. Officers attended and found no-one was injured. No further action was taken."

The news comes after the Independent Children's Home Association said that new care homes are regularly met with hostility by nearby residents.

Biddulph Nub News reported previously how the planning application to convert a Park Lane bungalow into a care home was narrowly approved by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council back in November 2020.

The application was made by care service Helping Angels, who hoped to convert the bungalow into a home providing respite care for young people aged under 25 who need to be cared for 24/7.

After a debate the application was approved by one vote, with seven votes in favour and six against.
