In our latest Trusted Contributor article, Cathy Cooper praises Biddulph's latest diamond slimmer, Caroline Barber.

Caroline Barber's life has changed since she joined Slimming World and reached her target weight in December 2013. She was recently awarded Diamond Member of the Year at her Biddulph Saturday morning group as, six and a half years later, Caroline is still within her target weight range.

Caroline began her Slimming World journey in September 2013. She had been unhappy with her weight and how she looked for some time but had never before found the confidence to join a group.

Caroline's daughter had joined a group a few weeks previously and Caroline said that she "could see the weight dropping off her". Caroline was inspired to join and said that she is "so glad she did". She lost almost 6 lbs in her first week and reached her target weight within just 13 weeks, just before Christmas.

Caroline says that each week she lost weight and each week her confidence grew – and so did her love for Slimming World. Caroline says that Slimming World "has changed her life, changed the way she cooks and enjoys foods, and the fact that she can eat so much more than before – and healthily."

Caroline says she has realised that her group is very important in helping her to maintain her weight. She said: "I love my Slimming World family, I love the recipes. I have so many favourites – Lamb Rogan Josh from the SW Fakeaways book tastes as good as from any Indian restaurant – I love Slimming World chilli, lasagne, and my current favourite is a big crustless quiche which is so simple but tasty.

"My confidence has grown so much due to Slimming World. I feel fitter and not so sluggish. I am now a member of a local hiking and mountaineering group and love to get out in the hills and mountains – it is very challenging and exhilarating and something that I would not have been able to do before Slimming World.

"Slimming World is now a big part of my life and I am so glad I made the decision to join and walk through those doors."
