A local resident has said they were shocked after finding racist graffiti sprayed on an area of playing fields in Biddulph. Colette Smith, who lives in Brown Edge, spotted the offensive message sprayed on a green area near Our Lady of Grace Academy while waiting to pick her daughter up from the school. Due to the offensive nature of the graffiti, it has been blurred in the first image above, but the uncensored version can be seen by scrolling over to the second image. The n-word can be seen sprayed on a small concrete area of the playing fields, as well as "KKK" - a reference to the racist Ku Klux Klan organisation that gained prominence in America in the early 20th century. Speaking to Nub News, Colette said she spotted the graffiti earlier this month. She said: "I saw this graffiti while waiting to collect my granddaughter from Our Lady of Grace Academy on Woodland Street. "I would not normally be on the green area up from the school as I don't live in Biddulph. I live in Brown Edge and have little knowledge of Biddulph and Knypersley. "I was exercising my puppy there and was shocked to see the racist comment. "I didn't report it to anyone. It never occurred to me to report it to the police, I suppose that is because they don't seem to attend unless for more serious issues." Biddulph Nub News has since contacted Staffordshire Police to make them aware of the graffiti, and is currently awaiting a response.Don't forget to sign up to our newsletter below!
