A Biddulph milkshake shop has been granted planning permission to become a bar.

Biddulph Nub News reported back in November how The Yard on Biddulph High Street submitted their application for a change of use from a café to a bar to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.

The shop is located at 35 High Street in Biddulph, near the mini roundabout and had previously served coffee, milkshakes and cakes.

However, it may soon be serving more boozy beverages after its application to turn into a bar was granted.

The application was recommended for approval by Biddulph Town Council at a meeting of its Planning Committee, with Cllr Charlie Smith providing more information about the plans, saying the proposed bar would be more of a tap house, selling ales.

In a delegated decision by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's planning officers, the application was approved yesterday (Monday).

To view the application and its supporting documents in full, visit the application's page on the district council's planning portal here.
