A Biddulph restaurant has announced that it will be closing its doors next month - but they still have plans to have a presence in the town in other ways.

The Reubens American-Italian restaurant on the High Street first opened its doors in Biddulph back in November 2019.

However, they will be closing in August after saying that the venue wasn't right for their long-term plans.

However, diners won't have too far to travel if they still wish to visit, as Reubens also has a restaurant over in Congleton.

A spokesperson for Reubens confirmed that their last day before closing will be Sunday, 7th August.

However, there are still plans to occasionally serve food from other local venues following their closure.

They said: "Lovely folks of Biddulph and beyond, we will be leaving the high street, our home for the last three years.

"We have a plan to purchase the sites that we operate from and with the venue being over two floors and having no outside space we don't feel that it's quite right for us long term.

"It's definitely not a goodbye from Reubens. You'll see us popping up in local venues, including the Royal Oak, and we will be looking for a more permanent venue in the future.

"Sunday 7th August will be our last day so make sure you pop in for a bite. After that date don't forget that our Congleton restaurant is only a couple of miles away and we will be open seven days a week from 8th."
