Police issued warnings to the owners of two vehicles in Biddulph last night after they were seen "driving in an antisocial manner".
Officers said the owners were issued with Section 59 notices yesterday evening (Tuesday 1st February) and warned that their vehicles could be seized if they were seen driving in a similar manner again.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team said: "On Tuesday evening, the owners of two vehicles that had been witnessed driving in an anti social manner around Biddulph town centre were issued with Section 59 notices, meaning that their vehicles will be seized if found to be driving like this again."
Nub News reported last week how Sainsbury's carpark on Wharf Road is now subject to Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 which means that any vehicle being used in a careless or anti-social manner can be seized immediately by an officer without any further warning.
PC Oliver Neville said: "This measure has been put in place due to recent incidents where anti-social use of vehicles has taken place on the site and in surrounding roads.
"We will continue to work with the community to tackle issues affecting where they live. I would urge anyone with information relating to nuisance vehicles to contact us by sending a message to Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter or calling 101."
