Biddulph High School students have been praised for their hard work and resilience for achieving a "fantastic" set of A-Level results today.

After teenagers around the country found out the results of their last two years of work today, Biddulph High School has revealed how its Sixth Form students got on in their A-Levels.

And it was good news, with all of the school's students securing their chosen university place, including one at Oxford and one at Cambridge.

In another very challenging year brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic, the students were praised for their resilience and commitment, and were wished all the best for the future.

A spokesperson for Biddulph High School said: "This year, our Sixth Form students have achieved fantastic results in A-Level and L3 Vocational studies. Performance was particularly strong in A-Level Further Mathematics, Sociology, Psychology, Chemistry, English Literature, Physical Education and Biology, and within RSL L3 Performing Arts (Dance), BTEC L3 Health and Social Care and Extended Project Qualification, with 60% or more of all students achieving A*-B grades.

"Our students continue to make progress onto fantastic university and apprenticeship placements. We are delighted to have secured places for students at Oxford University to study Geography, Cambridge University to study Mathematics, Nottingham University to study Veterinary Medicine, and places at a wide range of other universities, both locally and nationally, to study a variety of courses. 100% of our students secured their chosen university to continue their studies. Our apprenticeship support continues to yield outstanding opportunities and we are delighted with the range of apprenticeships achieved, including prestigious places at AstraZeneca and with the police.

"This has been a year like no other at Biddulph Sixth Form. Staff and students have worked incredibly hard throughout, overcoming the significant challenges of education during a pandemic year. We are delighted with the results students have achieved and they clearly reflect the commitment that they have for their studies and the progress that they make with the support of high quality subject teachers.

"Against the odds our students have proven to be resilient, hardworking and committed to their studies. They deserve nothing but praise for their achievements and we wish them all the best for the future."
